Self Love: A positive self image

We all struggle with our self-image from time to time, some more than others.

Self Image: The way you think about yourself and your abilities or appearance.

It’s a never-ending battle to stop thinking about ourselves in negative ways. We constantly compare ourselves to other people. Be it a celebrity or someone we see at the mall. We see a beautiful person and immediately start envying their clothes, hair, makeup etc.

"Real beauty isn’t about symmetry or weight or makeup; it’s about looking life right in the face and seeing all its magnificence reflected in your own."
Valerie Monroe
There are even times we envy others for how well they do things. “She’s so smart.”, “She has the best boyfriend.”, “Wow! Her blog is really amazing!”

The great thing is, we can see the beauty in other people but the bad thing is, we don’t see our own beauty. We are all unique in our own ways.

"A strong, positive self-image is the best possible preparation for success."
Joyce Brothers
Body Image is a very delicate subject as well. A lot of us have this in common. Instead of us being proud of the way we look physically, the media makes us doubt ourselves and dislike our bodies.
Khloe Kardashian is someone who is constantly judged about her weight. She is one of the most beautiful women ever no matter what size she is!

Body Image: the subjective picture or mental image of one's own body.

We really need to do our best to love ourselves. If there is something we genuinely do not like then we need to fix it because we want to. Not because other people want us to. There is a tremendous amount of pressure on women to go through life looking photo-shopped. We are all flawed and different. That’s what makes us beautiful individuals.

Remember when V Magazine showed us beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.
"People often say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder."
Salma Hayek
