Top 10 Essentials Items Every Girl Needs in Her Wardrobe

My closet has always been a disaster area. I'm always trying to hang on to items and never let them go. While I was pregnant last year I decided to get rid of a lot of my things. I chucked shoes, purses and anything else I haven't worn in a while. I think over the years my personal style changes and as it does I need to start over. So thats what I'm doing now. However, I don't want to just go out and shop. I need to be practical about it and get the basics. So today I'm going to show you the Top 10 Essential Items Every Girl Needs in Her Wardrobe. With these 10 items you will always have something to wear no matter where you're going and your closet will be clutter free.

                                                                  The Coat
When the weather gets cool we all need something stylish yet functional to keep us warm. Go for something fitted and synched at the waist to give you a nice silhouette. Unless you live where it snows then forget style and go for warmth!

Coats

The Blazer
A good blazer has many uses. You can wear them to work or for a night out. Blazers come in so many looks these days it can be hard to choose one so grab a few. Just make sure it is well fitted other wise it can ruin your whole look.

The Button Up
Buttons Ups aren't just for the office anymore. Paired with some skinny jeans, heels and a statement necklace and you're good for a night out.
Button Up Shirts

The Tank Top
There are so many uses for a tank top it's ridiculous. Wear it under your blazer or layer it under another shirt. I've always got a few tank tops on hand in white, black and grey.

The Basic White Tee
A white t-shirt is so easy and affordable it would be a shame not to have one or 2 or 3. They are so versatile and can be worn anywhere with anything.

The Pencil Skirt
Pencil skirts are one of those items that never goes out of style. Said to have been introduced to the world of fashion by Christian Dior in the 1940's, pencil skirts have come along way.

The Perfect Jeans
I'm a jeans kinda girl. I love them, I live in them. Jeans are one of those versatile items that can be dressed down with a t-shirt and sneakers or dressed up in a blouse and heels. Either way make sure they are a good fit and right length other wise you can look a mess!

The Little Black Dress
The little black dress also known as the LBD is a wardrobe staple. It comes in so many endless styles it can be mind boggling trying to choose just one. Choose the one that best fits your body type and make it your "go to" dress when you're not sure what to wear or want to look amazing without putting in a lot of effort.

The Black Heels
This is the shoe you want to splurge on. They can be worn all of the time for many occasions. However, besides black I also recommend a nude shoe as well. Between the 2 you will always be ready to step out.

The Boots
Boots come in handy in the fall and winter months. They keep you warm and make you look good. You can go with a high heel or flats. Either way every girl should have a great pair of boots in her closet.

  6. Great list!! I think every girl needs a trench coat! The only think I would add is a striped top- they're always in fashion and can be worn with everything. Great post :)

  7. You nailed it! These products alone are the foundation of any great wardrobe. I'd add a leather jacket, too, but that's just a personal thing. I barely go anywhere without mine if it's under 70 degrees out!

    Congrats on IFB!

  9. I agree with this list - but I would add skinny black pants and a leather jacket. You can't ever go wrong with those.
