By now I’m sure we’re all familiar with mineral based pigments. I recently did a review on Younique’s 3D Fiber Lash mascara now I’m reviewing their eye shadows. I’ve been playing around with them for quite some time and here are my thoughts.
First off they come in 32 amazing colors to choose from. So you have a lot to choose from. Half of the colors are shimmery and the other half are matte. Which I found to be pretty amazing. I’ve been using different mineral pigments over the years but this is the first time I’ve found any matte colors. I’ve talked before about how I don’t think a completely shimmery eye is appealing and you NEED a good matte color in your crease.
Next, the eyeshadows are highly pigmented. They work great with or without wetting your brush. However, with every brand you’re going to have your hits and your misses. In this case the 2 misses that I came across are Flirty and Famous. While they are both very pretty colors I just couldn’t get them to work for me. By that I mean they just didn’t give me the color pay off I was hoping for. As for the rest of the colors I’ve tried just about every single one and they have been perfect.

Last but not least is the price. At $12.50 they cost less than some brands and about the same as others. I’ve paid upwards of $14.00 for pigments at a mall kiosk. So the price is pretty spot on.
Overall I really like the Younique Minerals Pigments. They are affordable and highly pigmented. I definitely recommend these if you like mineral makeup.
